Roger Green attended Stetson University graduating with a BA degree in music education. He received his M.M.Ed Degree from The University of South Florida and completed his School Counseling certification from University of Sarasota. Roger has served Pinellas County Schools in various capacities for 35 years. For 22 years, he served as Director of Bands at Bay Point Middle School, Lakewood High School and Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School, consistently receiving superior ratings in concert, jazz, and marching band.
He also served as a District Doorways Coordinator and as a school Guidance Counselor at Morgan Fitzgerald and Meadowlawn Middle Schools. Mr. Green has adjudicated marching band competitions, parades, concert band and also solo and ensemble performances. He has taught private trumpet instruction and has been a guest conductor/clinician for area middle and high school band programs. Mr. Green is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Kappa Pi, American School Band Directors Association, National Band Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, and the Florida Bandmasters Association. Mr. Green is currently serving his 26th year as the Associate Director and trumpet player for the Greater St. Petersburg 2nd Time Arounders Marching Band (scheduled to perform in the 2008 Macy’s Parade) and is honored to join the St. Petersburg Community Band as Assistant Director and trumpet player. Roger is now retired enjoying his family, volunteering at his daughter’s school band program, playing golf and performing with the Rounders and The St. Pete Community Band.
