Late Breaking News... We are rescheduling our season kickoff! The school where we meet for rehearsal is hosting an event August 30th and we will not be able to use the bandroom as planned. Please mark your calendars for our new first practice/music distribution/meeting date: NEW BAND SEASON ABOUT TO BEGIN! Welcome to the St. Petersburg Community Band News page. We had a MOST successful 2009—2010 season, which we thoroughly enjoyed and a few others enjoyed it too, we are glad to say. We are now preparing for our next season... new music has been purchased, instruments freshly tuned, and chops are at the ready! We will be playing in numerous performances around the St. Petersburg area, including a fund raiser for the Sheriff's Youth Ranch, which is a great cause and one we are proud to support. And we will once again be a part of the Lighting of the Tree Ceremony in our downtown Straub Park neighborhood. And there's more to come! NEXT SEASON'S SCHEDULE The season's schedule of rehearsal dates and locations, and performance locations, dates and times is now available... Please check the Schedule Page for an updated list of rehearsal venues and performances. Subject to change, of course. NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED If you are looking to join a great, fun community band and would like to contact us, you can reach us via e-mail: administrator@stpeteband.com or director@stpeteband.com We generally welcome instrumentalists without an audition, although there are some instruments we need more than others. Please let us know your chosen instrument(s), comfort level with sight-reading, number of years experience, and your general availability for rehearsals and concerts. We do not charge a fee to join. The only cost to you will be the minimum requirement for our band 'uniform' and a few supplies. There is a description on Our Uniform. We rehearse most Monday evenings at 7:15 pm in the Band Room at Northeast High School: You will find a map link to this address on our Schedule Page.
